How about a hat with a cat curled up on it? A cat climbing your leg? One hanging onto your back? This sounds like a really cute idea.

I like the idea of a hat but I'd go for a big straw hat with "catnip" growing on it (that fake wheat grass stuff?) and a cat eating it. How about a big necklace made from cat toys and a cat pinned on your front batting at it. Who are you serving food to? If it's people you know, definitely litter box cake with tootsie roll poops. Google kitty litter cake for lots of great (gross) pics and ideas. You could drink by lapping out of a bowl.

How about making a purse out of a cat food bag!

And don't forget to go to Goodwill and pick up a pair of cat-eye glasses. You could pop out the lenses and just have the frames to wear. Jakabedy's idea of a purse made out of a cat food bag is great! You could also get lots of kitty jingle toys and sew them around the bottoms of your pants legs....every step would make you jingle. You might also sew an "emptied" flat stuffed-animal cat to the seat of your pants and then walk around saying "now I wonder where Fluffy went?"

Wow, so many great ideas already! I especially love the one of making a necklace of cat toys and also the one of sewing toys around the bottoms of my pants legs. I scored some beanie baby cats and a pair of cats eye glasses with clear lenses on ebay last night. I'll be serving food to the neighbors. The kitty litter cake is a wonderful idea, but I normally do regular halloween-type things, rather than something that 'goes' with my costume. I'm trying to talk my husband into being a cat, but so far, no dice. He always has to be something he thinks is fitting (translated, cool). Thanks for the great suggestions.

I think the kitty litter cake is a popular halloween thing too! You could just put it there among the rest of the treats , haha. Or even put it on the floor and then start eating out of it. IEW. Love the cat food bag purse! You can be the crazy environmentally correct recycling cat lady!

I know nothing about cats since I am deathly afraid of them.

But I have been to some smashing Halloween parties. Do you know what you will be serving?

I love all the pumpkin and sweet potato pies that are served. Once I went to a party and they served Chili in a witches black pot with hot ice under it.

But you got me thinking now about Halloween, my favorite holiday. I would love to give a party myself, I just love Halloween.

Don't forget to make some dangle earrings from those cat toys that look like a bunch of feathers on a string. You could also buy a black turtleneck or long-sleeved t-shirt and get a stamp of paw prints. Use white paint to stamp kitty prints across the shirt, up the sleeves, etc as if the cats walked all over your clothes.

And certainly a leather animal collar for neck adornment - get a tag made like they do at the big box pet stores, with "Kitty Krazy" or something like that engraved on it.
