Trouble with yarn 'tails'....

Hello all,

I'm a "little better than beginner" crocheter and I just finished my first baby blanket. I crocheted stripes of pastel colors, divided with 2 rows of single crochet stipes of white. The blanket turned out so pretty....but....my beginning and ending "tails" of yarn keep sticking out when I move the blanket around. Yes, I did weave in the 6 inch tails...but they keep popping up and it's driving me crazy! I'm thinking that after the new mother uses the blanket for awhile there will be little yarn tails popping up everywhere! I don't think they will pull out (I did tie some together before I began to weave them into the blanket). But I'm worried that it will look horrible as it gets used.

Is there anyway that I can fix the problem, or anyway that I can avoid it in my next project? Maybe it's just the baby soft yarn I used (Bernat).

Thanks so much for any help or future advice.

Susan
