What type range hood for window placement

I've tried searching for this specific topic but cannot find any reference.

We are remodeling our kitchen as part of a complete home remodel/additon. My range hood will likely be placed in front of a window. (as in the attached picture) But, I'm not sure whether I use a wall mount or island hood in this case. I've asked the appliance rep who we are working with but I'm not sure he really knows. I'll be using a 30" AG DCS range.

Thanks very much for your help

Our counters are 30" deep so we went with island mount in front of our window.

we also have a window behind our stove. we looked at the island hoods first and for a permanent solution, I would go with that (but we decided to mount our wall hood on a 2x6 in front of a bit of the top of the window as a stop gap measure before we redo that part of the kitchen and move the window. it isn't pretty but I couldn't stand being without a hood for the 2 yrs it will take to redesign and permit our "real" new kitchen)

Lagom, I'm curious to know what you ended up doing? I came across the same picture you posted above as I've been researching this same type of setup. I would love to see a picture if you are done now. Thanks!

Lagom and all, I am coming on this post way late but we are doing the same thing - a hood in front of the window with the range underneath. If anyone else has done this, would you please post images and let me know how high off the cooking surface you placed the vent? thank so much for such a great resource!
