Here is a pattern for an adult cowboy hat. You could adjust to fit childs head size maybe by the gauge of your yarn.

The boot pattern is made with worsted weight yarn, and I would want to make the hat to match from the same yarn. Still looking.

I was in Barnes & Noble today and browsed through "Too Cute Crochet" by Cynthia Preston. Darling funny hats and scarves, including a cowboy hat, clown hat, kitty hat, dutch girl hat with braids, and many more. You can google the title. It's a sin what we do to defenceless babies, isn't it?

I have a pattern that fits a Cabbage Patch Kid which is done in worsted weight. Perhaps you could use 2 strands together and have it come out a little larger than the doll size. Let me know if you'd like to try the pattern I have.

I am working on the "Too Cute Crochet" cowboy hat. Although I consider myself fairly proficient at crocheting, I am having difficulty following the pattern. Has anyone worked this pattern? By the way, the instructions call for cotton worsted.
