I have put mine away for the summer. You might make a really lacy open one and wear it during the summer, though.

I went to a luncheon the other day and a couple wre wearing them....but I put mine away for the summer.

I've seen some wearing them as belts around here...but I've put mine away for summer, too.

I've put mine in winter storage too. Maybe if you had some really skinny light weight ones, they would look cute in the summer though.

They also look great loosely tied around a tote bag. AT the shop where I teach knit/crochet, customers also enjoy making very thin "soft jewelry" for the warmer months. These are narrow strips of novelty yarns that look like fabric necklaces.

I've seen teenagers wear relatively short, skinny, fuzzy scarves throughout the year as a fashion statement.
