Susan, thanks for the reminder. I keep forgetting to check various sites occasionally to see what's new. I finally got my brain to remember to check the daily patterns from Annie's Attic and Elann's new patterns every Tuesday. I saved a couple of those motif patterns for future reference.

I've been checking Annie's and have saved many since January, by month with a cover table listing the patterns. Never checked Elann's but now I know why - I don't really knit. Have tried, it's OK but crocheting just goes so much faster for me that I never stuck with the knitting.

I like to knit the booties, hat and sweater of a layette and then use the same yarn to crochet an afghan. The crocheting goes so much faster (and uses lots more yarn), but the knitting makes for a loverlier and finer texture for the clothing items. And it seems that you can make a crocheted afghan more interesting in design usually--not always.
