Cool socks!! They would look awesome with a pair of Birks or other sandles. I think you should put them in your husband's Christmas stocking, along with a lump of coal, for that nasty comment he made :-)

Tell hubby that you will have full control of what socks he wears to meet his maker, and if he isn't really, really nice to you, well.....then he can just imagine the socks he'll be wearing!! LOL

At least your husband comments on your work. Mine wouldn't say a word if I were kitting a tent!

iDixieRose, would you believe those are the same socks I'm almost finished with?!!! LOL!!!! I have about 2 inches of the foot left to do on the second one. Isn't it neat the way the yarn makes the stripes?

I have been trying to work on both socks at one time lately, doing an inch or two on one, then catching up with the other one, so it doesn't seem to take as long. Of course it does, but they are both finished at almost the same time so it doesn't seem like it! On this one, I couldn't do that, as I broke a needle on my second set of circulars. Got lucky, my husband was able to fix it.

That's the way I do socks too, Tami. It's really nice to have them both done at once.

One of the ladies in my Thurs. knitting group suggested it to me. I always got bored with the second sock when I did it one at a time. I think it's easier to keep them even in length doing it that way, too. Even tho I measure, it still seems like they come out better when I do them both together. And if they are both done at once, you can wear them right away, if it's the right season for the yarn used, instead of having to wait for that second one to be finished!

I couldn't do that. I always knit the first one wrong and have to redo. If I did two at once, I'd just have two wrong ones to tear out! I'm turning the heel on the 3rd one right now. I'm afraid that the second one needs a re-toe though. Drat!

I'm like you ell, with the socks. I always have to do 3 socks too. Isn't that frustrating? Seems like I always make mistakes on the first one, if it isn't that little hole at the heel gussett, which I got right this time, then it's big gaps where I pick up the stitches. Everytime I think I got it right, then I do something else wrong. Just about makes a person want to give up on it. I just finished a sock, which has gaps where I picked up the stitches and I don't think I'm going to make the match to it. Not worth it. I don't like the colors I used anyway. I have some new yarn coming, I finally found some Paton's Look At Me Yarn (I really like this yarn) and when it comes I'll start another pair and hope I get it right this time. Needless to say, I have about 3 orphan socks in my basket now from past endeavors. I'll never get any christmas presents done this way will I?

That's a pretty fancy sock, Dixierose. I haven't tried socks yet as I'm afraid they'll turn out different sizes. Some day. I just want to finish something first.
