I bought a set of the round ones. I have found that they are very limited in their capabilities. And the stitches are not as "pretty" as in knitting. They are also awkward and bulky. The boards look even moe cumbersome. I think I will stick with my needles. And if you can learn to use one of those things, you can surely be taught to knit.

Well, I agree with Donna, but I also feel if you find something you enjoy doing, then go for it! Paint by numbers or whatever!

And I also agree with socks. I did not mean to belittle your interest in them. Different strokes for different folks. I just don't want you to feel that knitting is so difficult you shouldn't give it a chance. If all you want to make is a scarf, an 8" circular will do the same thing as the loom with a good looking stockinette, and who knows, you might decide you want to expand your repertoire from there.

QVC just recently offered a straight-line loom on their Craft Day. You could check their website. The loom comes with a video that shows you how to use it. That way you get to use it for 30 days. If it doesn't work out, you can return it.

Thanks Teri...I was actually on the phone to order the qvc loom when it sold out. It is back ordered so I am still looking at others. They are extremely popular.
