Scarf pattern?

I remember years ago knitting a scarf in the round ,where you knit all stocking stitch,but if I remember right,you wound the wool around the needle a # of times and then at the end,you pulled on the scarf to make it longer.

Kind of hard to describe,but does anyone remember this pattern?

I remember it was very simple to do and not as time consuming as knitting a long scarf with stockinette stitch entirely.

It also made a very soft scarf.

Could this be the one you are looking for? I found a website months ago that takes you through all the steps and has lots of pictures, but I can't find it today. There is a link on the page I've sent the link to so that you can see a picture.

I think that may be it,except it was knit on a circular needle in the round.I'll give it a try.

Yes, the one I found previously was done in the round. The problem is that when I copied it to save, I didn't save the web address. My computer at home is down for an office remodel, but I believe I have it backed up on a CD, which I can take to work and email to you if you like.
