Virtually all of the yarn web sites have free patterns. You didn't indicate if you want knitting patterns or crochet patterns, but you could do a Google search and find LOTS of free patterns.

Here are a bunch of free patterns for slouch berets at Ravelry, I included both knit and crochet in the search as you didn't specify which type you work. Just change the search parameters on the left menu to narrow down the choices and do a new search for the wrist warmers.
