I have just finished the first slipper as described on this site:

I am at the part where you are supposed to sew it up. However, I don't know how to do this so it will look nice. Can anyone give me a good way to sew up this slipper so it doesn't look ugly? I have a big darning needle and all I can think of is to put right sides together and do a backstitch or something like that. Any help is appreciated.
