Is there a guideline that speaks to how high above a pendant should hang above the sink? This light calls for 2 100 watt bulbs. Of course, that is changeable.
Before I order the fixture, I would like to make sure it will fit in the space.

The most important consideration is that no one working at the sink bonks his or her head on the light.

Someone on another thread suggested using a balloon on a thread to try out pendant heights, and that seems like a good plan here. Or you could use a horizontal piece of cardboard for the bottom edge of the lights and two pieces of string going up to a central hanging point.

First do what looks good from a distance, then try working at the sink, adjust, look again from afar, etc. How high is the ceiling over the sink?

If it seems that this fixture won't work, you're still not stuck with another recessed light: you can always go for a similarly styled flush mount or near-flush-mount light (probably easier to find as a single light).

Thanks. The ceiling is 8 feet 3 inches. I'll try that balloon idea.
I appreciate all the help. As we get to the end of this construction project, the decisions come fast and furious and I'm trying to make sure I choose the right materials.
There have been issues with the GC, too. I take some comfort from other posts as I find I'm not alone, but my stress level is at an all time high.
