fabricating a heating system

I have a General Electric 220V 60A/30A heating unit from a stacked chamber type air handler airconditioning/heating assembly that uses an external air conditioning system. It was given to me by a friend since I am replacing the bad gas heater in my 'old' mobile home trailer and on SSI disability income, am financially limited to what I can do. His knowledge on such systems is as limited as mine. Can anyone tell me what I do I need to do, to install this into my mobile home trailer once removing the gas heater, and hook it up to handle the heating for the trailer? I am thinking that I can use just the heating unit (can I?) to replace the 'closet-type" age-old gas heater of this old home of mine. It has a two wire (10guage) lead into a rectangular box on the inside of the unit and a working 'squirrel-cage' type fan or whatever you call them. Can I use a normal wall type thermostat for this, and besides wiring the 220V up to the internal breaker, what do the two wires apply to I mentioned here. Please, anyone experienced in these, can you give me some tips?
