Snapfish.. blah

I've just spend the last hour and a half trying to order photos from Snapfish! A huge chunk of that was due to me not having my photos organized as well as I should have. I originally was just going to order some photos for my Mom but decided I might as well order the black and white photos for the hall ledges and it went from there. I have ordered from them before with no problems and was very happy with the photos.

I finally went to place my order and decided to use Paypal. An error message popped up and said there was a problem. I went to my email and saw a message from Paypal saying there was a pending authorization to Snapfish for the amount of $XX. I hit the live chat button and the guy told me to try again and he assured me I wouldn't be charged twice. I tried to pay with credit card this time and received a message saying the site was having technical difficulties, blah, blah and there was about 10 photos it showed that couldn't be printed. What? I've had those same photos printed out before from their site? Went to live chat again and he said they were emailing someone about it and they would get back to me. Also said they would honor the free shipping sale that ends tonight.

So now I wait. I'm worried about being charged more than once. That would be fun with Paypal. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Anyone order photos online from a site they love? I haven't tried Shutterfly yet and someone else I know likes Winpix I think it's called?

I haven't ordered photos online for the past year, but was always happy with Shutterfly's quality.

Oh, and thanks for the reminder ... Snapfish gave me 25 free digital prints when I got a new printer earlier this year and I think the offer expires next month. I have ordered from them in the past. Hope things are resolved quickly for you.

I've taken to ordering online and picking them up locally. Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens all offer a service like this. The online part is just like snapfish - you have albums and can preview and order prints, coffee mugs, scrapbooks, you name it. When you order, you can select pickup at local store and have the option of taking a few days (cheaper) or 1 hour processing (a bit more expensive, but still not too bad). Great for when the kids need photos last minute for school ("Mom, I need to bring in a picture of my great grandmother tomorrow for school - do you have one?"). Oh, and since you're picking them up, no shipping charges (which, I have found with snapfish and shutterfly, can really be outrageous!)

I've found the CVS site easiest to use and the prints are nice looking. I don't think Walmart's prints are quite as nice quality, but they are cheaper. Never used Walgreens because there isn't one close to me.

Kodak has a good site. Last year I created a leather bound book there to give as a Christmas gift. It was a pictorial history centered around our dad. He passed before the grand kids had a chance to know him and I thought it would a great way to remember him. Ordered 6 copies and they were beautiful! Great quality and fast. I'd definately use them again.

I've used Snapfish since DS was a baby and have had no problems. I had some credits that didn't expire, and some credits that *were* expiring last week, wanted to use the expiring ones for prints of DD's kindergarten halloween party. For some reason it applied the older (no expiration) credits first, and then of course the rest expired, they couldn't figure it out Live Chat but I licked on Customer Service link and they gave me all my "no expiration date" credits back (so I will use them for vacation pics).

If you've been happy with the prints and the prices, stick with them, they'll straighten out any billing problems.

    Just wanted to update this..

It's still not resolved. This is tiring. I would've rather just paid the $20 in shipping (promo code) as it's not worth this.

I know the techical difficulties thing happens at times with website but this is taking longer than I'd like to resolve. I been emailing and am getting nowhere. They're telling me to dispute it but it's not allowing me in Paypal. I tried to cancel the order myself in Paypal and it won't allow me to do that either because it's gone through. Talked with someone at Paypal and they told me basically Snapfish needs to either void or capture the payment on their end. I then called Snapfish and talked with someone I could barely understand and they're forwarding the problem AGAIN to someone and I'll have to wait to hear.

My hands are tied for now. I'm sure it will be fixed up but I'm not even going to complete the order through them. There are plenty of other photo sites on the net.

I've always wondered what would happen if there was an error when trying to complete and order online.

Still haven't heard anything and I'm tired of the whole ordeal. The email communication with them so far has proven to be poor. They didn't even answer all the issues in my emails. Some of the ones I received just had links where I could basically figure out the problem myself and I absolutely hate that not to mention they're suggestions didn't work because they need to fix it on THEIR END. I want to talk to a person and fix it. Enough messing around. My last phone conversation with a Snapfish rep. the best he could do was sent, yet another, email to someone and they'd get back to me.

I want the order cancelled and I won't order from them again. If they would've been a little more concerned about fixing this and doing it a little faster I might feel different.

Point of my babbling, do I need to ask to talk to a Supervisor at Snapfish? In general what do I need to say to get the job done? I know it's not there person on the other end of the line's fault but again. . .

I guess I could still order photos from another photo site before this is taken care of but something in me just keeps saying to hold off. I hope the amount doesn't show up on my credit card since it's "pending". My email from Paypal made the normal comment at the bottom saying $xx amount was charged to your card and will show up on your statement as SNAPFISH or something like that.
