Having JUST installed a pull-out pantry from Lee Valley yesterday, I would highly recommend you try the pull-out and come prepared with small bottles. The LV one really jerks open and closed, so that small items fall over. Not a biggie for me, as this is just the broom closet, but it would bug me for pantry items.

Also, access is an issue when they all pull out at once- harder to get your hand in there if you have shelves/baskets close together. I'll be having pull-out shelves that come out one at a time in my 'pantry' so there I have space above each shelf.

Note- we are experimenting with NOT attaching door to pullouts (didn't realize it was supposed to be attached when we ordered it).

I think "kicking the fender" (or is it tire, I have construction fatigue) is a great idea, although when buying online, tough to do! I did do a little research and found a little video of the assembly process for the VS pull out. They look quite solid and I guess if I don't hear any nay sayers on the foreum I'll go ahead and get them. I have been stuck trying to figure out this pantry for too long!
