so far the design software on the mill's pride site is the only mac friendly online design software i've come across. i'd live to find one that has bells and whistles too

If you are using Safari, and the website is not receptive, then try FireFox for Mac; that should accommodate matters.

Thanks, Splinky, I'll try Mill's Pride.

Fahrenheit 451, I tried Fire Fox on Ikea and Merillat, but it was no go. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Djdoggone, okay I see what you mean as they download a Windows application. If you have an Intel Mac you can use Boot Camp to load these Windows applications. There is also Live Interior 3D, that is reasonably priced. There is also a free version of Google SketchUp.

Yes, but you also have to buy and install a copy of windows. Try sketchup. If you go to the ikeafans website, they have some good tutorials on using sketchup for kitchen design.

I ended up buying a cheap PC just for games & my design software. I'm spending many hours in the basement these days!

I'm bumping this up because I'm having the same question and wonder if some fresh ideas might be around for a free or cheap MAC friendly design software program.

Thanks.

Of course many of the windows applications don't seem to work well with Vista, either. :-(

Here is one, I tested it works really well and produced high quality rendering and directly links to manufacturer's catalogues. ENjoy!

Any new options in the last few years?

The Ikea planner works with Macs. You have to download a plug-in first (you'll get prompted).
