Ventilation with no upper cabinets

Hi everyone. Looking for advice on ventilation options. This is a new kitchen. We will have a 36" induction cooktop on a 28"-30" deep countertop against an exterior wall. There will be a high ceiling (13 feet) and a small clerestory awning window high above the cooktop, and no upper cabinets, but some open shelves (see attached sketch).

Option 1. a pop-up downdraft vent to the outside. I know people say these don't work super well, but without a pro gas range, maybe it would be fine. I like that it disappears when not in use, but it seems complicated to install, repair, replace...

Option 2. A wall-mounted hood. I would like something not too obtrusive. I don't think a chimney hood will look good here, partly because I can't figure out the transition from the top of it to the wall above. Maybe there is a low-profile hood that can simply fit under a shelf? I don't really want a recirculating hood. The shelves can move or disappear in places if need be.

Option 3. Is there another option?

Please help if you can. And just ignore the little details in the drawing, like the pot filler sticking out of the wall behind the cooktop. The main thing is the space, and especially wall height, behind the cooktop. Thanks!
