Question on light output

I have an old track lighting fixture that has 4 track heads containing 65-watt incandescent GE Reveal bulbs. I'm looking at replacing it with another track light, but one whose track heads take 50-watt halogen bulbs.

Would 50-watt halogens be as bright as or brighter than 65-watt Reveal bulbs? I can't find any info on the lumen output for the Reveals. I'd like the new fixture to provide at least as much light as I have now, if not more.

It's hard to say for sure, because you haven't pinned down all of the variables. Halogen is a type of incandescent bulb, not a completely different animal. Reveal bulbs are available in both halogen and non-halogen versions. Both Reveal and non-Reveal bulbs are available in a variety of physical sizes that produce differing amounts of light even when wattage ratings remain the same. In other words, the devil's in the details.

What size & shape are the existing Reveal bulbs? What is the diameter of the face of the bulb, assuming these are reflector bulbs? You won't be able to learn the lumen output of those bulbs until you can precisely identify which bulbs you have.

The Reveal bulbs are not halogen and are 65-watt floodlight style. The box they came in makes no reference to lumens.

Just a guess, but the reveal floods are probably around 550 lumens each.
