T5 for under-ceiling light?

Hello

I am trying to find a creative way to re-light my kitchen with practical & efficient light. I came across T5 HO fixtures, which seemed to be mainly for aquariums, horticulture, or high-bay lighting.

The idea of a slim strip-light under my 8-ft ceiling sounds appealing to me (maybe 2 4' single light strips), but I haven't seen anyone else do it, which makes me concerned that for whatever reason it is not appropriate from a lighting standpoint (wrong kind of light, too bright or not bright enough etc.)

If anyone can fill in the blank spots in my research, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all in advance!
