Automatic outdoor light socket?

Hi all,
Can any experts suggest any good automatic outdoor (porch) light socket with timer? I did buy one from Home Depot for $5.99, however, once the dome is placed on the bulb, the light starts flickering. I am going on vacation and want my porch light turn on and off in dusk for couple of hours.
Thank you
Anna
