We are planning an addition onto our home with a 10x16 room with a vaulted ceiling. We have a 4/12 roof and the home has 8 ft ceilings. One option our architect has given us are led rope lights hidden behind picture hanging molding, but we aren't that into the cove lighting look. Our tastes tend to the traditional and away from contemporary, and that's how our home is styled.

What other options do we have? Our architect says recessed lights are out because of the insulation in the framing above the ceiling. Are wall sconces enough?
