Yes, we do have a wicker dog crate. I can't remember where I bought it -- from a catalog, I think. I bought originally for our sunroom because like you, I couldn't stand having one of those beige or gray plastic things "on display". Later, we moved it to our bedroom. It has worked out well for us, we have used it for two dogs and neither of them chewed through it or anything like that. We don't really use it any more because now they are "sofa trained" rather than "crate trained" LOL. Now it functions as an end table next to the dogs' sofa!

We have an ebony wood one that looks like an end table...it's really quite nice, if a little big but it does work and it's honestly even nicer than the wicker because they can't damage it as easily when scratching and whatever evil stuff they tend to do in the box. In addition, (this is ugly but let's just go there) if they have any "Accidents" it's much easier to clean up flat wood than it is wicker.

I did a write up a few weeks ago on AM for dog crates - when I was searching to purchase. Igloo, I believe I did yours. It was not the least expensive place to buy it, but they had three crates that I wanted to showcase. I don't own or make money from the site, so I don't consider it spamming....don't want to go there! :D

fyi, the wicker crates (Pet Residences) by Mr Herzher's do not have wicker bottoms. It is a removable tray. My puppy is almost 4 months and a chewer when it comes to her toys and my left hand. She does not chew on the crate at all and doesn't have accidents either....but I can see how one would want a tray to remove for cleaning.

I never buy anything without searching the internet for the best price. There's more left over to spend elsewhere. lol I would like to ask why you always feel it's necessary to say how expensive or much something cost. It's not something I'm used to, since people with real money don't talk about money. Unless it was a "great bargain," I don't understand the reasoning behind it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't buy the best or not to spend away, but with so many loosing jobs and/or having to tighten their belts these days, it doesn't seem like the best idea.

We have two of the kind allison posted, except that ours have flat tops. When we purchased ours three years ago the arch-top models were not available. I wish we had them because our dog crates have become shelves for the detritus of daily living.

Thanks for the link Allison. That looks like a really good deal with shipping included. I love the round top, but then I'd have to find another place for the boy's treats. I guess I have to stick with the flat one or tuck a bag of treats under the ccushion on the wing chair!

I really can't do a table in that room, unless I get rid of my grandmother's marble topped wash stand that I am currently using as a night table. I am not willing to make that much of a sacrifice for my little guy, love him though I do.

Mona, we are feeling remarkably settled in. Parma gave me some advice shortly after we moved in...to hang art work asap. So, I tried every few days to put a few things up. I also think that because we are using so much of what we already owned, we feel more at home. I had an idea that I would buy some new things but that will have to wait, and maybe it will never happen and that's okay with me.

Amysrq, have you seen the ones that are pointed on top, with a lift/hinge for storing treats/bowls, etc? Grandin Road always has them in their catalog. I'm sure you can find it elsewhere on the internet and probably in the lighter color.

fyi, I love the arch but was hesitant about purchasing because I really wanted the darker brown. It doesn't come in dark. But it looks great in the house.

We got ours from Crate Haven. Last time I checked there was a picture of my actual crate (with my actual dogs) on their website. We got the big crate and our Cairn terriers share it, but they have smaller ones.

I'm sorry if I've offended you (apparently quite often from what you've said Allison). I was laughing at myself because when I searched for the crate I couldn't find that style for that type of price and wish I'd have seen it there instead of where I purchased it. I wasn't trying to brag I was dumb enough to spend more..that wouldn't make much sense now would it? I don't even know what else you're referring to so I'll just go away offended and leave it at that. So sorry to have been such a bother to you!
