We plan to put recessed lighting throughout our home (including the kitchen). I now that there have been lots of improvements in lighting over these past few years.

We have 8' ceilings. I want to be able to dim all the lights. Several questions:

a. What size cans should we use? 5" or 6"?

b. I would prefer flourescent

a) Are flourescent lights dimmable?

b) Do flourescent lights turn on right away or is there is a warm up period?

c. Should we focus on LED or Halogen?
