Floor color question

I don't have pictures to post, but if you can imagine the following colors, could you give me your opinion on floor color?

Cabinets are 3 different kinds: island is bamboo, lower perimeter base cabinets black, upper cabinets white, blending into white walls with the exception of one narrow accent wall in deep red. So the flavor is urban crisp modern. But, contrasting to this, on the wall opposite the red wall, an earthy rusty red countertop with a grayish pale tumbled marble mosaic backsplash. The kitchen does not get much daylight, so lights are on most of the day. Adjacent rooms have some sage green and a golden orangey yellow.

I like the look and bold patterns of large slate lookalike porcelain tiles in a 24"x12" brick pattern, but am worried slate is too dark. The lighter slate types I've seen are too beige. I am NOT a beige type, and prefer either a colder gray or much warmer tones, even though the tumbled marble backsplash works well offsetting the bold reddish 2" concrete countertop. I took a few sample tiles home in beige anyhow and everyone agrees it doesn't work. Although there are so many different surfaces, none of them have much texture. Doors are all slab doors. I am undecided on the countertop of the island, but most likely a dark gray/black.

I am sorry to not have pictures yet to give you a better feel for the space, but any input is much appreciated.

Way too much going on for anything but a stark white modern floor. Keep the walls and the floors the same tone and the cabinets and counters will be the star. Put something too dark and/or busy on the floor and it will become a jumbled mess. I'd suggest 24x24 polished rectified white porcelain.

I would check out marmoleum or amtico vinyl flooring...both can give you color and texture to the floor in a contemporary look.

Amtico has a room visualizer on their website so you can see what the flooring might look like in a white and black contemporary kitchen.

You might even look at cork flooring...I would think that with your color scheme, you may want some warmth and texture added in the floor...

It's really hard to suggest though without any pictures or at least shades of the red wall and counter (do you have names?) or how much floor space is in the room....

Managed to upload this picture - finally found a way. Thanks for your input. I am actually not worried too much is going on since all the lines are clean. I personally think it sounds busier than it looks. And I think a bold stone pattern will actually be welcome. Bottom left pic has some slate samples. I forgot to mention there is a bamboo ceiling treatment.

I'm afraid that I agree that there is already too much going on. You've designed a great look, but it is BUSY. Very busy. It needs something very calm as the backdrop. Solid color walls and floor in the same color. And I like the idea of the white as it keeps the focus on the kitchen and not split among so many materials that grab the eyes.

Thanks everyone, you are right. My question is obsolete now, though, as it turns out I don't need to replace the floor after all! Yay! Just saved a load of money on wiring my island with 240 for an induction cooktop and replacing the floor as a consequence. It turns out there was a very well hidden cable already run to the island. Thanks again.
