Wow, that's a lot of progress! I'll bet it feels great to have the space opened up (although probably hard to live with as it is right now!) Can't wait to watch your project as it comes along. Good luck!

I'm jealous of your progress and can hardly wait to see the final product.

My contractor taped up all of the entrances to the kitchen so the dust stayed in there pretty much. BUT there is still alot of dust on the furniture and the floors..I just dont think you can see it in the pics. We were vacuuming every night after they left, but then we just gave up on that because the next morning, when they would start again, it would all come back.

Wow! I was thinking the same thing... where's the dust? I'm in week 3 of our kitchen reno and I feel like the dust is never ending even with the doors taped. Your space looks great, so spacious. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress and finished kitchen!

Hi cawfeegirl (love the name!) No I haven't posted any pics yet. I haven't figured out how to do it. I need to sit down and do that asap. We are almost done, cabinets are in, painter is here, counters go in early next week and tile and final coat on floors right after. I can't believe how fast it went. The hard part is going to be collecting all my kitchen stuff from around the house and putting it back in there! How's your project going?

altagirl: it's going great! I just posted a "week 3" update showing pics of the new window over the sink and the ka-gillion boxes of cabinets in my house. Ooooooh, you need to post pics! The thread "Read this if you are new...." tells you how to post images. Its pretty easy!

It's so exciting to see your progress! Your cabinets look great. I feel like our reno is in slo mo (outside work too) because of weather. It's helping me to see your kitchen coming together!

WoW! That's huge progress in just two weeks. We are going on 2 months, but only working on the weekends. I'm told everything should be done in another month. We also opened up the wall into out sunroom and isn't it amazing how big the space looks! I clean everyday and the dust is still lingering after 1 month. I'm so anxious to get this project completed.

doonie: Sorry to hear you are being held up by the weather...that has to be frustrating. When we first started, we had a freak snowstorm and it pushed the project off a week. I was sooo disappointed!

rufinorox: Actually, my photo album is a continuing one so it's now been three weeks. The cabinets just went in this past week. I love all of your choices...the cabinets, the tile, the granite!! Can't wait to see the completion!

thanks cawfeegirl - I'm looking forward to seeing it all come together. I look at all my samples everyday and I can't wait to see what its going to look like. I'm having a dilemma with the sunroom floors. I'm trying to decide if I should go with bamboo flooring or laminate.

I just finished week 3. I feel like I'm controlling the dust now. Did any of you find anything interesting in the tear out? I got a 1950 wheat penny and some 1950 newspapers. Oh, yeah. and some really cool really old linoleum.

Behind our kitchen wall is our bathroom and once we demoed the walls we found hundred of razor blades. It seems back in the 50's they use to throw their razor blades in a slot in an over the sink cabinet in the bathroom. Crazy!

Its been a slow two weeks. Cabinets were installed but some were missing so we are waiting for them. Its been mostly drywall work and trim work being done. But this week the missing cabs should be in and then they will start to finish up! The missing cabs will go in, the appliances installed, the electrician finishes up with the pendants and undercab lights, etc. Also the painter starts tomorrow. Granite should be ready to install by end of this week or beginning of next.
I posted some of these before but maybe you missed them.

How's your reno going???

Oh the hardwood floor guy was here to do samples. We picked out "natural" which is basically what they are now but without the sealer. He will come in the first week of April while we go away for spring break with the kids and do them!

We are done! It was the fasted kitchen reno I have ever seen. Here are some pics of the almost done kitchen. I have to take some new ones now that we are moved back in.

omigosh..that is simply beautiful! Your countertops are gorgeous! And seeing your GE Cafe installed is making me impatient to get mine!!

Are those undercabinet lights puck lights? I like them.

Lovely to see what's ahead of me--gives me positive thoughts. We just installed cabs and are waiting for everything else: wall texture, paint, floors, T&G in ceiling, granite to be fabricated.

I can totally empathize with you Cawfee, some weeks seem like so little is done, but I do know my GC is working super hard to make progress, so it's really just my impatience. I can't help it, I just want to have my house ready!

Cawfeegirl- your cabinets are beautiful! I love the shaker style in maple. I knew I liked the look of the stove but I'm really loving using it... it's great! You are going to love it.

The under cabinet lights are Kichler halogen or xenon lights with a high/low/on/off switch. I also have them all wired to a dimmer switch.
