Installing Cup Pulls... can you please explain?

Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I thought I should ask here BEFORE I mess up my cabinets.

I just rec'd a knob and cup pull (bin pull) that I thought might work in my kitchen. I installed them to try them out and make sure it is a style and look I want before placing a full order.

Here's my problem: the cup pull has these little "legs" for the screws that make them project off the drawers a bit. I want them to be flush to the drawer front, so I know I need to do some drilling, right? Can someone please explain the best way to do this? Do I just do something to the drawer front to get a bigger/deeper hole or does the entire screw hole area get drilled through larger?

I have a drill with all the little different size bits and I have a Dremel. I have never used either one (they're hubbies tools) so what should I use? Is this easy enough for an idiot (me) to do?? LOL

I thought of just buying different cup pulls, but I like the ones I got (just not the projection)

Thank you!
