Cabinet Hardware

I am in the process of refacing my existing cabinets. Painting cabinet frames white and having doors and drawer fronts made by a local cabinet maker in shaker style. For various reasons I want to install different types of hardware. I want cup pulls on the drawers but one drawer is a lower drawer which is used as a "recycling" drawer. As a family, we all have a habit of currently using our foot to pull open that drawer, especially when hands are full of recycling. It is easy to do that because we currently have "handles" in which to insert our toe :)

Elsewhere (on cupboard doors) we will likely install oval knobs but I may change that to handles (on the doors). If I do handles, I will need to put a knob on the tilt out drawer under the sink for hanging towels on (I attach little fabric hangers on my towels for this purpose) because I have no where else to hang towels near the sink.

Would it be weird to have all cup/bin pulls on all the drawers (there are only 8 of them and they are mostly narrow), knobs on doors and that one recycling drawer with the one pull handle? I am hoping that, by having all the hardware in one finish (polished nickel) that that one odd handle won't be too noticeable.

With all of my different options, I could potentially end up with three different types of hardware in my small galley kitchen. Weird??

Opinions??
