Down to the final details. We're going to have runnels/drain grooves (the local term) cut into the granite counter. The granite dealer says they usually do 5 grooves at 15''. For our purposes, mostly draining a pot or washing veggies, that seems too long. We would rarely be setting up a dish rack.

I'm leaning more towards 5 at 12". Anyone think this is too short?
