Has anyone had any experience staining cement shingles (Hardie or Certainteed)? We are building a new house and want a shingle look, however, the dry weather here in Colorado is pushing us towards using the cement shingles (not to mention the price savings).

This builder claims they used 8" red oak shingles and Cabot exterior stain. Wondering if this can be done successfully on cement?
