Your primer-status is fine. Many primers will look "hazy" when applied properly. They don't have to completely block previous color.
* The only issues are IF it was pushed too thin...meaning well beyond 400sf/gal.
* What brand was used??
* What color of new paint are ya doin'?
* Are you planning for TWO paintcoats?

Whew! Your answer's very reassuring.
No, it wasn't pushed too thin. We used AFM Safecoat primer (it's a low VOC non-toxic kind, but it has a good reputation for quality).

I'm probably doing a softer blue, and yes -- from what I've learned on this board, we'll do two paint coats.

PS...Give your new paint a month to cure b4 any light wiping/washing. Some brands may be quicker, but a month is safe.
