Wallpaper/Texture/Paint

I haven't had much luck finding the info I need to do this, so I'm hoping some of you experienced people here can help me out with your suggestions or direct me to some step by step instructions.

I have 2 small bathrooms that I would like to texturize the walls and paint. Both bathrooms have wallpaper applied directly to the drywall without primer and both have 2-3 coats of paint on top of that, with the last coat of paint being semi-gloss.

The wallpaper is secured adhered to the wall and is in good shape and I really do not want to remove it. I'd like to lightly texturize the walls to cover the imperfections before painting.

Here are some of the questions I hope you can help me with:

1. Primer to use

2. Advice on texturizing, as I have never done it

3. Products you can recommend from Lowe's, etc.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Tammy
