Finally found our granite!!!

After a long search filled with dissapointment, we have finally found a granite DH and I both agree on!

The colors look different IRL then in the photo. Our cherry cupboards don't look as gold and the granite doesn't look as red (at least I hope from what I remember, LOL!)

I'm dissapointed in the color rendition of the photo...the granite was more brown, cream, and dark rust/brick.

Installation next Saturday! I can't wait...it's gonna be a long week!

    Beautiful! Is that Typhoon Bordeaux?

Thanks everyone! We love it. It's called Magma, but it doesn't look anything like any Magma I can find online. The colors are much more like a Typhoon or Sienna Bordeaux, but that's not what it's labeled.

I like to Google granite colors I'm considering to see photos of it in kitchens, but it's not working with this one :-)

    It's beautiful, enjoy!!

I am in love with your Magma granite! It is gorgeous!

    Love it!!!

I really love that! Congrats on finding one you love. It's not easy!! Happy for you : )

Whott-hoo! Congrats! I get to see my typhoon Bordeaux next week too! It's been 3 months and I miss it! Where did you find it? It's beautiful!!

You are right, it is definitely NOT easy to find a granite you LOVE! Found lots I liked, but it took seemingly forever to find one I loved.

Christine, found it on the east side, A.P. Marble and Granite over in Clinton Twp. This place was more expensive than other place in that area, of course! But that was were my perfect slab lived, so...I had to break out the wallet, again!

On the photo: it's *so* much better than the photo of the granite slab we went with. Ours was in an outside yard at the end of a row facing the freeway. Our photo shows a reflection of the beautiful blue sky and the buildings on the other side of the freeway as they appear on the polished surface of the granite. It makes it just a wee bit harder to see the granite that way.

Hooray for a successful and beautiful decision!

    Yeah!!!
    It will be beautiful!
    Now onward to the backsplash!!!

Hahaha! The backsplash! After the search I just did for that granite, I think maybe I'll just have white subway tiles and call it a day! ;~)

    Wish ours was that simple

    Our kitchen!!
Love how fast you have a decision!!!
    I over think everything!!

a2gemini, I was totally joking regarding the backsplash. I am sure I will agonize over the decision until I drive my husband mad...again.

No decision has been fast for me. The cabinets took 2 months to settle on, the appliances took a month, and the granite has been since last November! But, that's how I work best, one step at a time.

It is most aggravating for me to have to belabor and over think everything, too. But it seems everytime I try to make a decision quickly, I regret the choice and wish I had taken more time.

I always tell my husband that it's a sickness and he needs to feel sorry for me! LOL

    Glad to hear
32 color samples to figure out the outside of our house - LOL but the neighbors had fun.

    Welcome to the overthinkers society!!

That is too funny! I actually had to call my husband in here to show him that I am not alone. Your outside patchwork paint job looked very similar to last winter's patchwork paint job in my livingroom!

Every shade of caramel you could think of, plus some dark reds and browns for a potential accent wall. And don't get me started on the search for the foyer light! My daughter calls me The Queen of B.N.R...(Buy and Return) LOL!

    Glad you enjoyed this
I set up a voting table and scheduled a training run by our house.
I ended up not using any of the samples - but combined the second from left (not the very top but the one under it) and the bottom left(I think)
I started mixing my own paint colors.
SW thought I was nuts - they said, they all look the same, but I could see subtle differences and knew what I was trying to achieve, so I said what is wrong with simple math
Thunderous has this, this, and this.
Mansard stone has this, this, and this.
What your computer made has this, this but not this from the mansard stone or this from the thunderous. He said, this never works - I said - humor me and it was perfect!!!

abfabamy-wow, read your post-i live in clinton township!! small world here at the forum! Who is doing your cabinets? I'll have to check out that sone yard!

Hi Michelle! It is such a small world! I live in Ortonville, so Clinton is a hike, but that's where my fabricator is and I love him.

Our cabs are just Kraftmaid from Lowe's...but loved, loved, loved the kitchen guy we worked with there (Bill from Bloomfield Twp store). He was exceedingly patient with me, as is the granite fabricator. And that is what I require, cuz I am a tad indecisive at times!

And a smaller world - Ann Arbor!
So we have Ortonville, Clinton, and A2!
    6 degrees of separation!
