Hi,

I once heard that long, long ago the superior way to paint walls was to first put on a layer of canvas, then paint over it.

Fast forward to today. Is there any wallcovering product on the market, like good old canvas, that is intended primarily as substrate for painting?

I understand there are some paintable wallcoverings, but aren't these primarily intended to be used as wallpapers?

Secondly, among these paintable wallcoverings, are there any that are PVC-free and have a woven texture?
