In one room I think you should have window treatments of some sort on all the windows, but they don't have to all be the same. You might put draperies on the larger windows and roman shades on the smaller ones. Or fabric valances with blinds or pull-down shades on the smaller. The variations could depend on the placement of the windows in the room and relative to each other. It might also depend on the style of the other elements in your LR. Could you post a picture? Or describe the situation more completely? What kind of curtains do you currently have that makes the room too crowded?
