Help on kitchen layout

We are in the process of planning a renovation to our kitchen. Here is how our kitchen is now:

We are thinking of taking out the pantry so that we can increase counter space and open the kitchen more. There is a minimum of 36" between the island and all surrounding cabinets/appliances/walls.

We would have a lazy susan in each corner, an easy reach cabinet on the wall in one corner and a blind corner in the other.

The wall that extends on the right side has a window and sliding door, so it can not be used for cabs/counters.

Any thoughts/comments are appreciated!

You may want to consider a pie shape for the island.

I've tried looking at some different shapes for islands but the space is very constrained in order to keep a minimum of 36" between the island and everything that surrounds it - also would really like to have the 48" cabinets below to help store things.

Thank you for the suggestion though!

I would consider moving the range toward the left, giving you a longer counter stretch between the range and sink, the most natural spot for prep, rather than between the range and refrigerator. (I know that the island top is available, but my habits at least are firm in that I dislike carrying, say, dripping tomatoes, over a walkway from sink to island and then from island to range. Your preference may be different. I'm just throwing it out for consideration.)

I'm not sure how far you could move the range before it would start crowding the corner and refrigerator. Maybe someone else will chime in with a better idea about that.
