oil rubbed bronze hardware on espresso cabinets?

Hello, first post here!

We're doing a complete kitchen remodel and of course there are endless decisions to make. Here's one I need your opinion on.

I assumed I wanted brushed nickel/stainless hardware on our espresso stained cabinets (kitchen will have SS appliances). The hardware is very simple, a bar pull. BUT...since I'm going for a more contemporary look I thought it might be nicer to have the pulls be oil rubbed bronze instead of SS so they don't stand out so much, but kinda just blend in with the cabinets. I noticed my espresso stained media center had pulls that were darker (not quite as dark as oil rubbed bronze but not SS either) and it looked nice.

Am I totally off here? I haven't put the two together so I am just imagining it. And I wasn't able to find a pic of the combo online. Would the SS be a better choice? AND..does that mean I need my sink faucet to be oil rubbed bronze?By the way countertop, will white and the backsplash....don't get me started.

A caution on oil rubbed bronze sink faucets- I have them in kitchen and bathroom. We have very hard water here with lots of lime and calcium, and you can't use lime-a-way or similar cleansers on them. They always look dirty. My kitchen faucet's finish is already damaged even though I am careful with it. Just a thought.

I've seen it often, and I think it looks great. I have darker cherry cabs in my powder room with ORB hardware that blend in, and I like the sleek look.

i have that exact combo and i used amerock "highland ridge" and could not be happier. i, too, did want my hardware to stand out against the espresso, because then thats all you would see and frankly i did not want "see" my hardware. my granite is the star of the show. also, i am not a fan of SS, so that look was out for me from the get go.

my frig and DW are paneled. i did use a SS sink,( could not afford my dream sink, copper), but i did use an rubbed bronze faucet and i am happy with the combo.

also, love the highland ridge hardware, they "feel" good in my hands and are hefty and solid. we used the rectangle knob and the pulls, love them. they do have a sliver of an edge of copper which i adore, check them out if you can, really nice.

We have ORB pulls on our dark walnut double vanity in the Master bath -- they look great!

sprtphntc: I was actually wondering how the ORB faucet would look on the SS sink - do you mind sending a pic? I think I am comfortable with the ORB hardware so that it doesn't stand out in the kitchen but it's the faucet/sink thing that was confusing me.

Highland Ridge is really nice, haven't seen in person but look nice. I want something more minimalist so the simple bar pull is the frontrunner but HR is an option.

What do you all think about ORB faucet against white quartz countertop and whitish backsplash?

It think ORB hardware would look great. To me, SS is kind of like denim, goes with just about everything.

I do have to say something about those pulls you selected. I had a similar style in my old kitchen and I hated them. I hated them because cords got caught on the ends and they would catch my clothes when I moved by them. I ripped several pairs pants because of that little portion of handle that stuck out. Just wanted to mention that in case it was something you hadn't considered. Maybe no one else has that problem with those types of pulls and I'm just a klutz. This is a picture of my old kitchen where you can see the pulls I'm talking about.
