Coffee table reduex

I picked up this coffee table intending to use it for a different project, but realized I could use it in our family room. The room is quite 'western' in feel, and with a few tweeks, the table fits in perfectly.

I paid $10 for the table

I used DIY chalk paint. Got a sample jar at Home Depot for about $2.50 of a deep, rusty red and added 2 TBS of unsanded grout to make the paint. 2 coats of paint, no priming necessary, and a light sanding. Then when it was dry, went over it with a mahogany stain/sealer. This morning I added the faux stamped leather insert and the nail heads.

The color is not orange, I had to take the pic with my iPhone and it's under some lights. I wish I had a better camera!

We really like how it turned out. It's distressed just enough to fit in the room, and the color is perfect for in there. I'll try to get a better picture.
