Yeah, the only wire fence I've been able to find on the East Coast has 2"x3" rectangles. Where did you buy this square hog wire?

DM I don't know about the East coast, but West Coast Farm supply stores seem to carry galvanized hog wire like this.

I too want to know where you get the 3 or 4 inch square panels, not mesh. How high is this dog pen fence? Only square mesh I find is a flexible gauge and not a panel, or is 50 in high. DM, did you use panels or the mesh? Our poor dog is waiting for us to find the right stuff so she can run free. Thanks! barb

Panels used were obtained here at a local building supply store.

brigsby2, I used 15 ft panels from Tractor Supply. They're a thick gauge - very nice!

my big concern is the height of the panels. I want them 34-42 inches and all I see with square holes are 4 ft or higher. DM and Avant Garden, what is the height of those you used? thanks a lot!

brigsby2, 4 feet. Buy a small bolt cutter and you can cut them to size. That's what I did. It was very easy.

This type fencing has been used for a dozen years in coastal communities in N. CA, and holds up well. We have seen the 5' x 16' panels called hog wire, horse fencing, different things. Check with a farm supply store and ask what they stock. Have done quite a bit of deck railing with Trex as the top rail, redwood for the rest. Sections are easy at 5' wide and 4' tall, stapled to the posts and trimmed out with 1" x 1".

These squares appear to be 4" x 4" squares; Tractor Supply Company carries these panels but they're more than double the price of the larger-grid fencing (6" x 8" squares--or rectangles actually).
