Faucet height?

hello,

Just wondering about the height of some of the pull down faucets - they seem really large and quite tall - I'm wondering if they will seem out of proportion and I should go with a smaller one, or if they really do look ok and that you need the extra height.

What other factors are there?

Does anyone have pics of their faucets? I'm considering the Kohler Vinnata or the Moen Aberdeen. The Vinnata comes in a prep sink size one which is only 10" high where the regular one is 15"...

I just don't want to get it home and have it be absolutely HUGE!

Thanks everyone.

I am sorry I have no pictures yet. Mine is 14 inches high-it is the Delta Leland. I love it-it does look large....so it depends on if you want your faucet to almost be art-like hardware and sinks can be too-or if you want it to only be useful and blend into the background?

yep; depends on context. do have a cabinet or window over the sink? do you have a very large sink area? etc......

I too think some of those things are huge.

I couldn't use a tall one, because the cabinets over my sink are 18" up from the counter.

But I wanted a really high clearance under the faucet. The ones shaped like an upside-down U may rise high, but they come back down. So to get the clearance I wanted, I had to get a faucet that was too tall.

I solved it by getting a faucet shaped like an upside-down L. It goes up, and then out, but NOT down.

Sometimes the shorter prep-sink versions don't REACH as far into the sink as you'd like. And they often spray straight down, so you don't gain any extra reach that way.

I would recommend the Kohler over the Moen pulldown. If you are just choosing between those two. The Hansgrohe pulldown is an excellent choice as well...You won't notice the height of any of these and it won't look disportionate

    A choice I regret:

It's definitely too tall to my eyes. When I look through the dining room window it sticks out like a sore thumb (at least to me). It also doesn't have a very good reach.

Check your measurements. I had no idea the faucet would be this huge or be so non-functional.

hi - pbisjar - can I ask what the height of your faucet is? I agree with you - it's a bit high, and I'm worried they are all like that...

    thanks :)

The spec sheet says it's 17 and 13/16th's tall. Arch distance is 7 5/8".

What kills me is that this faucet was far from cheap. I love the lines of it (at least for a pulldown), but it's just not very functional. Even worse is that the night before last, the faucet head developed a leak. Appears to be fixed now but...

Here is a link that might be useful: Here's the specs
