I have woven blinds without fabric window treatments. Some with heading and some without. For a while I was happy with the look without fabric treatments, and still haven't done anything else. But I think eventually I will add fabric in the living room (where there is no heading), but probably will not add fabric to the blinds in the bathroom. I think it depends on the look you want and how much you want around you. It's a much cleaner look without fabric treatment; but sometimes it can appear to be unfinished. It has a cooler appearance in warm climates. I like it both ways. Wood slat blinds, however, I prefer to see with added window treatment. It's a matter of preference.

I took out all the blinds in my house and replaced them with WT. Then, one day at a yard sale I found some custom wood slat blinds for only $5 for the pair, that, coincidentally, fit my windows in one room.

I first put WT over them, when I had the room as a shabby-chic guest room, but now it's going with a contemporary look and I'll just have the blinds, no WT.

Completely depends on your style, I think.

I don't get a room when I visit that link...

I have several rooms with just blinds, and I love the look.

Of course it depends on the room, the window, the woodwork, the decor, and of course, your personal taste.

Most of my room have blinds or shades without window treatments. I'm not sure what particular type of blind/shade and valence (I presume that's what you mean by "heading") you're referring to, though.

I have white 2-inch faux wood blinds on every window in this small house --- and no curtains. BUT we do have cornice boxes that my DH made on the ones in the three bedrooms. And there is a fabric covered one in the living room and dining room.

We have four cats -- and curtains just didn't make sense to us.

Here's an example from our master bedroom ......

We have Pella windows with the blinds in between the glass panes. I have a valance on the top and that is it.
