We use the X-10 remote system. It is fairly inexpensive and once it is wired into your electrical box, it is simple as plugging in the receiver to the wall and pressing the button on the remote. You can also add other devices onto the remote. Our remote works with our Colorlogics and the second set of buttons works our flood light out in the patio area.

Is the X10 switch for the pool light wired just like a normal light switch? Once I have that, I can plug in a receiver and remote/remote switch I assume?

I think so, we can turn ours on and off manually from the X10 switch at the electrical box if we choose or use the remote.
