Where do you keep your bread?

I have a small kitchen and hate clutter on my counters so I have to store my bread in the fridge. Hubby hates it in the fridge so he always takes it out & leaves it on the counters or when there is no fruit in the fruit bowl he puts the bread in there. Just wonder where everyone with small kitchens keep their bread? I know some have bread boxes, but isn't that really country looking?

I keep mine in a bread box inside a cabinet.

I have a very contemporary SS bread box that I paid 40 bucks for at Crate and Barrel. Very nice looking and it keeps bread and muffins for almost two weeks. Best investment I made in my remodel :)

I keep it inside a pull-out lower cabinet, along with all my lunch containers (Tupperware type). Each loaf in its plastic bag. Sometimes I keep it in the fridge to slow down spoilage. My in-laws (who don't eat much bread) keep it int he freezer, and toast or nuke as needed.

I keep mine in a bread box I received as a wedding gift 27 years ago. It's deep and holds bread, rolls, buns and tortillas.

I have a wide drawer (under the counter where we have the toaster oven) designated for bread storage. I had the same problem you're having in every kitchen we've had. With a 10 person family we have lots of bread at a time and it became a pretty big issue. (It was particularly nice when someone would put it in the fruit bowl and when I bought fruit someone else would throw it in on top!) I decided that in our new kitchen it would have it's own space, and the drawer is it.

I am using one of the pullout drawers in my pantry for the bread drawer, and I'm keeping the peanut butter in the shelf underneath and its right next to the fridge. Our old one turned out to be a bread drawer with kitchen utensils (wasn't pretty) :) Hope this helps.

I got this bread box, and I love it. It's much more attractive than it looks in the pic at the link, and no matter how hard I try, I can't get it to show fingerprints. It holds two loaves of the kind of bread we get, along with a couple of other items (I have a few muffins in there right now).

Here is a link that might be useful: bread box

I keep mine on the bottom shelf of the upper cabinet above where I make breakfast. But there's only me in the house, so only one loaf on the go at a time (currently oatmeal buttermilk bread from the bread machine).

In the warming drawer. I found a Rubbermaid type storage box that fits in the WD perfectly (without the lid). I keep English muffins, bread, chips, etc in what is basically a "liner" for the WD. When I use the WD, I just take the plastic box out.

I keep mine in the fridge. Our humidity is very low out here (we average 9%) and the fridge keeps it from drying out ~ or molding~ for a longer time. Our humidity is so low that a piece of bread or sandwich, left out on the counter, will feel and taste dry within ten minutes!

We keep ours in the fridge. We're in CA and the summers are very dry and hot (not quite NM weather though). Leaving them on a counter leads to spoilage and we don't have room for a bread box. Maybe when I get my wall pantry I'll create a space for one but that's a ways down the road.

I have a small kitchen too. Now that I live alone, bread is kept in the fridge or the freezer, but for years I kept it in a basket on the counter. It's a problem because one often wants more than one bread product in the house.
