Outdoor lighting question

This is a kind of an odd question, but the knowledge of GW'ers never ceases to amaze me, so, I'll give it a shot.

The PO, a set designer and music producer, used outdoor lighting extensively. We have a large pond (2-3 acres I'd say), and they lit many trees around the perimeter. Plus many trees around the house and terraces. Many lights are installed in the ground, others are above ground, others in trees (like, get-a-crane-up-in-the-trees).

The lights closest to the house are mostly incandescent. The rest, esp around the pond, are mostly fluorescent.

I hate the blue/white tones of the fluorescent. But then, how often does one really turn on all these lights anyway? Pretty much only in the summer, in evening, when you are entertaining. One could easily make a case for never using them at all. But it is pretty magical when they are on.

So, my question is, is there any easy way to make the lights warmer (in tone). In other words, Im almost thinking that if I taped yellow plastic over them, theyd look better.

Is this the stupidest thing youve ever heard, or workable? Any other ideas? In no event can I justify replacing the actual lights. And some of them, up in the trees, I can do nothing about. But, wwyd?

TIA!
