Tritia, I'm not in love with my white appliances combined with the white cabinets but I wanted to do a "modest" kitchen renovation and stay under $20,000. So stainless appliances were not in the budget.

Here are photos. I'm getting the missing cabinet pulls installed tonight. Plus I'm still waiting for my pendant lights. So these photos show it not 100% yet but you'll get a good idea. I went with dark granite cuz my existing cooktop has a black/blue top. And the porcelain floor is lighter beige in person :

It's very similiar to mine. I think we even have the same range.
I think what works better for your kitchen, then for me to go with white cabs. Is the style of your doors. Mine have the raised panel kind of deal in the middle. Even though they're only a few yrs old, I think it dates them a bit.
And yours don't look like painted oak. (like mine)It's usually the white appliances, with the older, dated cabinets that shy me away from going with white.
We just had the counters done a few days ago, now need to move forward. And we're sort of at a stand still on where to go. Paint cabs. Leave cabs. Subway tile, no tile.

Oh, well.

tritia, raised doors are more traditional not necessarily dated. There are people who prefer them to recessed panels. I happen to like very clean lines like Mission and Shaker styles so went with square recessed. My doors are Maple which has very little grain. But if you sand, prime and put on two coats of say Benjamin Moore, you'll probably be fine. I see it all the time on HGTV shows. You could also go with a color on the base, like say pale blue or green or yellow and white on the uppers OR pick a color for both. Here's a link with color painted cabs. to give you ideas. They're very "cottagy" in style but you'll see pale blue and green at least.
