Just completing our pool construction and new to this forum! (Great info here!)....The plaster (Magic Tech) pebble finish was applied last Thursday and pool started to fill. The next morning I noticed that water was slowly streaming out of the skimmer basket area. At that time the water level was barely covering the deep end and therefore the minimal stream of water was running down the side of the pool. Apparently this slow steady stream of water wore down the plaster causing what appeared to be a streak or stain with a slight crevice type line (2-4 inch wide) in the plaster. It just happens the owner of the pool company stopped by that morning. After pointing out the problem he admitted that a couple of the valves had not been tighened and the water from the hot tub had backed up to the drains and had dribbled down the sides of the pool. He recommended that I be patient and suggested that after the pool was full of water and the hot start or fast acid start and the brushing that would be done would more than likely fix the problem. I have a hard time believing that the acid and brushing will fix the problem. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Thanks!
