I've seen fences that are lined with bamboo vertically that look nice, depending on how much you want to spend.

they sell rolls of this small stuff that looks tiki hut like that you can line a fence with and it is fairly inexpensive.

Also, silver buttonwoods make a great natural fence. They're fairly low maintenence (hedge once a year)and they grow fast, and dont need much or any watering. They're native. They look really nice as a natural fence.

flchad: thanks for the suggestion...the silver buttonwood might be another route to explore...save having to build something. Have to hit the next native plant sale they are having in our area and do some research! Thanks for the response.

I saw some privacy screen at Lowes in the pool section. I believe it comes in different colors and was very reasonable. Apparently it lets light in but you cannot see thru it. Let me know if this helps and please post some pics as I would have some interest.
