7 weeks and still waiting

It has now been 7 weeks since we got to the semi finished stage in the linked photo below.

We are waiting and waiting for our countertops and sink to be installed. I am really getting tired of washing dishes in the bathtub. DH cooks up a storm and I get to clean up!! He is a wonderful cook but somehow does seem to remember that we have no sink, no dishwasher and no proper countertops!

Thanks for listening to my vent, hopefully sooner rather than later we will have our new silestone countertops and sink installed.

We are a we bit further advanced than the photo shows, the electric is now done, and the glass door on the corner cabinet has been installed. Now we wait.

I feel your pain!

I plan to put plywood on the counter and install the sink temporarily if need be! I hate doing dishes to begin with (LOVE kitchen work otherwise) and it's already been 13 weeks. Once these cabinets go in, the countertop better follow quickly!

In our last kitchen reno we had a long wait for counters so I used a piece of plywood, bought an inexpensive stainless steel sink and faucet and hooked it up until the counters were installed - worked great.

I had planned to use my old sink, but while I was at a doctor's appointment my DH and the contractor removed the old sink and faucet and it went to the dump with the old counter top. I had told both of them that I wanted to keep the sink - I guess I was speaking a different language.... After washing the dishes in the small powder room sink for 2 days, my DH realized that I had a good reason to keep the sink and faucet, and off to Lowes he went for a temporary replacement..

I really looks great so far. You will have to post details and complete photos when it is counter topped and sinked. We love details and photos!!!!!!
