American Standard makes a sink like this, less expensive

Do you know the make/model for the American Standard Sink?

AS9062.998.020 through Vintage Tub and Bath. Around $700.00

The recommended installation is to mount/drain on a cast iron stand pipe. We need our sink wall mounted as shown but can't find a compatible drain for the 3" opening. Could you share how you modified the installation to accommodate the weight of the sink (a different wall bracket perhaps?)and the 3" drain? We are stumped. Thanks.

The sinks are Kohler Brockway series. I love them!!

These are not the Kohler Bannon, you simply have to compare the shape and depth of the basin to see that. The Kohler Brockway does not come in a single-faucet version now. Its smallest model is three feet wide and has holes for two faucets. Currently, Vintage Tub and Bath is not selling any sink that looks like this one. Neither is Kohler. Kohler has the Gilford, a vitreous china wall-hung sink with a backsplash and a single hole for a faucet/taps. It does not have the same feel as these two sinks do, no underside to paint, with a more finished china appearance that is not rugged like these sinks are. It comes either 24" wide or 30" wide.
Here is the Kohler Bannon, a cast iron sink that can have its "belly" painted red like these two above, but the belly is much deeper that these are. It can be wall-hung, though.

Amyclare, did you ever find a solution on the p-trap issue? We are having the same problem & Kohler nor the distributor have any answers, other than using the standpipe. I assume there is some sort of adaptor to go from the 2 7/8" drain to the 1 1/2"/1 1/4" standards. Your input/experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Angela - angelam@modabydesign.net

Amyclare and Angela Mechaley...we are having the same issue. Seeing these industrial sinks wall mounted all over Houzz, but our plumber and contractor have been turned down at every local plumbing store trying to recreate. We got the American Standard Lakewell sink, and their customer service is useless on this matter (they just keep insisting we have to put it into the floor with the cast iron p-trap). But we don't want anything going into the floor. Did either of you ever come up with a solution?

I'm still looking for a solution as well. Anyone tell me what drain part I need. I also have the American Standard Lakewell. Its already wall mounted but has no drain!

We ended up using the one recommended for the almost identical Kohler sink--working just fine. If you look up the Kohler model, it has the drain/strainer info on its spec sheet, I think.

Yes I am also having a very hard time finding the right conversion for the Kohler drain to fit into a standard 1 1/2" drain into the wall instead of the floor for the Bannon sink. If anyone can give specifics on how you did this that would be so helpful! Thanks!

I’ve just been alerted to an issue regarding the Bannon wall-mount sink from Kohler. Due to pictures on Houzz there have been many installations done with an alternate/more attractive drain assembly as seen on Houzz. There have now been multiple incidents of the sink falling off the wall due to the weight. Per Kohler, this sink is not designed for a true “wall-hung” installation without the cast iron floor drain shown in their specification and called out as “required”. This drain actually helps support the weight of the sink.

We installed the American Standard Lakewell as a wall-mount, and the porcelain cracked right behind the stainless steel rim, apparently from the strain. AS say it really needs the heavy duty P-trap to support the weight. But that places the sink at a very low height. Some have been able to insert a pipe threaded on both ends to add to the height. Also, American Standard says that if you don't use their p-trap, McGuire in CT (mcguiremfg.com) makes drains that will fit the Lakewell.

It sounds like you will have to help support these sinks by resting the rims on a counter top. There are examples of the Kohler Brockway in a cabinet, where the front of the sink protrudes out from the counter. I love this look, where the "belly" sticks out and can be painted.

Another option is this little sink. It is enameled steel with a navy or light gray rubber gasket around the edges. It has a very rustic look, so is not for everyone. It also does not have holes in the backsplash, so you either have to mount the faucet on the wall above it, or risk damaging the enamel by drilling holes.
