Ideas welcome

I am remodeling a kitchen on a strict budget. Here's what I am sure about: my cabinets will be off white with a dark brown glaze only in the corners of the wood, wood floor, and oiled bronze pulls and faucet. The kitchen and family room areas are adjacent and are painted red and pale gold.

Here are my questions: The granite installer is offering a u/m free stainless sink will this look okay with the oiled bronze? What color granite? I'd like some golds and browns, we have hard water so anything super dark will show water spots. I like tan brown, and new Venetian gold, other suggestions welcome.

Also, we are having the oak cabinets professionally painted, and have received 4 bids and each painter wants to do something different. Does anyone have experience with this?

We are in the process of having our oak cabinets sprayed right now, what are the 4 different things the painters want to do? Different kinds of paints?
Ours are getting done in cream, no glaze, because the sample we had done looked too busy, because the glaze got caught up in the wood all over the door, I wasn't a fan of the look because it just looked dirty to me. If they're careful to keep the glaze in the corners I think it will look great.
As far as granite goes, I think the NVG would be a nice choice for a light bright kitchen. Tan Brown was a little red for my taste. I really liked Tropical Brown too and had a hard a time between that and the Dark Caledonia I ended up going with.
I'm not sure about the faucet/sink question, but maybe do a search on Silgranite sinks, they seem to be popular here and the dark ones (cafe brown or black) look nice with ORB faucets. Personally, when I was planning on going with orb pulls, I was still going to do a stainless sink/faucet, since it coordinates with the ss appliances.
Please post pics when you are done, I'd love to see how it all comes together!

Regarding painting one company used a finishing system that cost $150 per door/drawer (more than we wanted to spend with 58 doors/drawers), and were vague about the process. One painter wanted to use sprayed lacquer, one sprayed acrylic and one sprayed oil paint. Of course each claimed they were best! They will only glaze lightly in the corners.

My appliances are black, so maybe the dark sink could work, good idea.

Will you post pictures of yours when done? it sounds very pretty.

Ours is sprayed lacquer, and I will post a pic in progress next week after the granite is installed. We really struggled with replacing all the doors with something other than oak, but I felt bad about throwing perfectly good doors away. I think things are finally coming together now, it's exciting!
