I guess I should have mentioned the measurements....

W- 65 1/8
H - 66

I would have to say yes. DS's last bedroom was 14x 14 and he had a craftsman style headboard/footboard - slats. Something "solid" like this needs a larger room.

What about this?

What else is going in the room besides the bed?

We will be buying two nightstands and a dresser. I would like something like the following....

We will probably get one nightstand with drawers and a round table for the other.

Thanks :)

I think the room will be lovely but, cozy... the 'heavy' furniture will make the room appear smaller without something to draw the eye away from it to the rest of the room.

Is cozy code for running a vacuum into everything?

The second one is better, imo. The low footboard won't be as imposing.

lol marys100. I vote yes.

13x14 is a pretty cozy room! I would think on a smaller scale by getting as small a bed as you can fit in comfortably and maybe look for other pieces on the smaller side that would be functional. You can purchase higher bedframes and store things underneath. I speak from trial and error!

Have you thought of just a head board and no ft. board? That's what I'm doing in my small master. No FB adds lots of visual space.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, I have thought of just doing a headboard. We would love something with wood and leather like the first bed but not as big.....

Any ideas?

What about this? I like it although I was looking for something with alittle more character...

Think about where the bed and nightstands will have to be in the room in relation to windows, closets and doors. You may find that there is only one wall on which the bed can go. Then having a large dresser that you must accommodate, you have to consider walking space, etc.

I think the headboard only idea is a great one.
